THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS - "GLUTTONY"

Biography | BackTo 3D | Home

Jim Ludtke lives in Los Angeles with his wife Sharon, and their two Welsh terriers.

Ludtke is best known for teaming up with San Francisco based avant-garde artists The Residents to create the disturbing yet award winning CD-Roms "The Resident's Freak Show" and "Bad Day on the Midway".

Ludtke's creations and techniques have been profiled in many publications, and I.D. magazine has included him in their "The Fourth Annual I.D. Forty" issue, honoring him as one of the year's most innovative designers. His animation work has been shown internationally, in both the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and the Dentsu Gallery in Tokyo. His commercial clients have included Nabisco, Nickelodeon, Nintendo, and Absolut Vodka.

His editorial illustrations have appeared for many years in magazines such as MacWorld, WIRED, and The New York Times. For the last several years, he has focused on longer term projects, experimenting with story-telling techniques in interactive formats.

Although he has found himself working in an industry that is currently extremely game-driven, one of Ludtke's personal goals is to encourage alternative forms of interactive entertainment, bringing to life worlds, characters, and modes of expression that could not exist in any other medium.
